Mindset shift: from chance encounters to intentional connection
Acknowledge the shift:
It’s normal that spontaneous meetups are rarer as life gets busy with work and all sorts of adult responsibilities.
Embrace intention with warmth:
You can be deliberate about forming meaningful friendships without feeling overly manufactured. Have you ever planned a girls’/guys’ night out weeks or even months in advance, and then dread when the day actually arrives? We spend so much time coordinating calendars and availability that we forget what it feels like just to get some actual quality time with friends and loved ones that doesn’t feel forced, or even, performative.
Focus on shared values and activities:
Prioritize non-parent-centric activities (food/drink, music, games, outdoor adventures, markets) and a vibe that invites open, easy conversations.
Build gradually:
Aim for a core group of 3–5 couples who “click,” plus a larger circle for variety. Consistency matters more than the size of the circle.
